I have been called as a Sister Leader Trainer in Ceiba! My new companion is Hermana Munoz and she is adorable. We were in the CCM together and got to Honduras the same day. We are over 18 Hermanas and are in charge of doing exchanges with them. We also get to participate in conferences and trainings. Im excited to learn and grow with this calling and serve the sisters the best that I can!!
Ceiba is up north about 3 1/2 hours from my last area. Its also by the beach woohoo! Sorry I dont have very much time to write but I love you guys lots and lots!!!

I've learned there is no such thing as a bad area.

Helloooooo!

Just got the call that I have cambios :( Well see where the Lord wants me next! Im grateful for the past 6 months Ive had here in Porvenir. Ive had a lot of great experiences here and have learned so much. I really started getting comfortable, but am willing to go where the Lord wants me to go.

Ive learned there is no such thing as a bad area. The Lord is always preparing people to hear the gospel. Ive also learned diligence and that hope is never lost.

We passed an Hermana Estella raking her garbage outside her house and so it was a great service opportunity. We helped her clean up a little then shared a message with her. She said her daughter died and we asked her if she believes in life after death. She said we all go straight to the grave and stay there. It really kind of broke my heart to see her without any hope of seeing her daughter again. We were able to teach her how much Heavenly Father loves her and that he gave us a perfect plan that permits us to return in His presence. It was amazing to see her being open to an eternal perspective. You literally could see a difference in her eyes.

Its mango season people! I bought a bag of mangos the size of footballs! I later regretted the spontaneous decision because the after effects were not pretty. One of the things I love about Honduras is that literally everyone has some kind of awesome fruit bearing tree. There are mango, avocado, lime, banana, coconut, papaya and so many more fruits ive never seen or heard before on every corner!

Well next time you hear from me Ill be in a different area! Hope all is well!

Love,
Hermana Sherman

Cambios next week, we shall see where the Lord wants me!

Hi!!!!

What a week! Dont remember much of it, but I feel good about it. Haha

Mi hija is doing a whole lot better. Her energy is coming back and shes starting to eat normal again. Hopeful everything just goes uphill from here!

On Saturday, we were on our way to an appointment and passed by an old lady with her machete hacking away in front of her house so we offered to help. We started chopping away when the Elders happened to pass by and offered to help us too. Soon a couple kids down the street came over and brought their machetes too and started helping. Then her next door neighbor came out and said, "what a group of Angels you have!" and started working. The sweet lady is named Marta and she told us she has been out working since 7am and it was 2:30 in the afternoon. She was praying saying that she didnt want to work anymore, then we arrived. The Elders told us they were studying at their house and normally dont leave until 3, but felt like they needed to go out and took a different street to their area, which happened to be the the same street we were working at. We told Marta Heavenly Father loves her and she said she recognized that and we have an appointment to visit her tomorrow!

We had another Pday but with 3 zones this time. We went to an Olympic stadium in San Pedro Sula, then to a place where they sell the craziest smoothies I have ever seen. Just when I thought it was impossible to put anything else on top of the smoothie, the guy added 5 more layers. Whipped cream, chocolate, sweet and condensed milk, strawberries, almonds, caramel, cereal, a candy shark, and all that over again 3 times. Our entire zone smashed inside a tiny van and the car was bottoming out almost the entire time. We had to get out a couple times to put the bumper back on.

We have cambios (Transfers) next week so we shall see where the Lord wants me!

Sooooo good to see you guys! So Good! Its pretty crazy cause I feel like it was a dream before my mission and forget how long ive been away sometimes. HAPPY LATE MOTHERS DAY TO ALL!! I am so blessed to have such amazing women in my life who are great examples to me.
This past week we kind of took it easy again and I learned how to make pretty good jello. Ive also had a lot of time to study and am learning so much! I could read the scriptures ALL DAY!

Last week was a little rough for Hermana Morales, poor thing. We ended up traveling to San Pedro Sula so she could see a better doctor. He told her that she definitely doesnt have gastritis like the other doctor said. He wanted to do a bunch of tests but she had to take the tests fasting so we had to return the next day. We were pretty slap happy and ended up waiting 9 hours to take all of her tests and wait for the results so we had a lot of time to explore the hospital. We actually found a lot of members and they were awesome. All in all, turns out she is anemic and has something wrong with her intestines so they gave her a lot of prescriptions and said we have to return in a week if she doesnt get better... thank you doctor. Hermana Morales never ceases to amaze me with her good attitude and dedication.
We had Pday with our zone today and it was hilarious. We were divided in teams and played a bunch of random games. We played sack potato and out of all the Sisters and Elders I was the only one to completely face plant. We also played volleyball for the first time here in Honduras and it was awesome! I realized that my arms have turned into noodles and am not as strong as I thought I was. We also played the most intense game of pictionary Ive ever played. HILARIOUS. Ive never seen a group of people so competitive. They crack me up. I havent laughed so hard in a long time.
This last week I was outside collecting my laundry when I hear,"Hermana Sherman, we have a small problem." There was a Tarantula the size of my hand in our sink. I couldnt take it out of the house living so I had to poison it first. Ive never seen a spider so big.
All in all im doing fantastic. Im happy I got to play volleyball. I hope you guys have a great week! I love you!

Que les vaya bien!

Oi!

Why Hello there!

This week was pretty crazy. Hermana Morales got sick Tuesday night after lunch. As we were walking in the street she started blacking out, so I rushed her home where she immediately started vomiting. She couldnt keep food down at all so we went to the hospital Thursday and found out she has bad acid reflex. I went on splits with the other Hermanas Friday and Saturday to get ready for Cristovals baptism. All in all the Baptism went well and last minute the music director didnt show up, or the ward mission leader who was going to give a talk on the Holy Ghost, so when the time came during the baptism the Bishop called on me to help out with both. It all worked out ok and Cristoval was baptized and thats all that matters. He was glowing after and gave the sweetest testimony. He was confirmed on Sunday and Hermana Morales felt well enough to attend sacrament meeting so we got to see it! Ive gotten a lot of study time in this past week! Im also learning a ton!

We found out one of our sweet investigators, Hermana Reina passed away. She found out she had cancer Tuesday and passed away Friday. She was the one that walked to church and the elders had to give her a blessing because she was in so much pain. She was being prepared for baptism and is continually being be prepared now. She is now resting from her pains and afflictions and we now are able to teach her family what they are able to do for her.

Alma 40:11-12

11 Now, concerning the astate of the soul between bdeath and the resurrection—Behold, it has been made known unto me by an angel, that the spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are ctaken dhome to that God who gave them life.
12 And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of ahappiness, which is calledbparadise, a state of rest, a state of cpeace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow.
